Moshe Schwerd is Senior Counsel in the Firm's Tax Department. His areas of concentration include the tax aspects of leasing and project finance.
Mr. Schwerd's practice has focused on both the United States and international tax issues involved in structuring both domestic and cross-border transactions, with an emphasis on facility and equipment leasing.
Mr. Schwerd has represented more than forty clients in over one hundred cross-border lease transactions. Mr. Schwerd has advised the City of Zurich, the State of Berlin and many other municipal entities.
Mr. Schwerd has lectured on these subjects, and most recently, on the Tax Aspects of Structuring Multiple Jurisdiction Leasing Transaction at the European Cross-Border Leasing Conference, February 23, 1998.
Mr. Schwerd joined Simpson Thacher in 1985. He received his B.A. from Yeshiva University in 1981 and his J.D. from Columbia in 1985. Mr. Schwerd is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
