Michael O. Wolfson is a Corporate Partner in the Firm's London office.  Mr. Wolfson's practice includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and private equity investments, joint ventures and corporate finance transactions.  Mr. Wolfson has been involved in transactions spanning a wide variety of industries, including telecommunications and cable networks, transportation, pharmaceuticals, packaging, financial services, manufacturing, food products, energy, and media and entertainment.  His clients have included financial investors, operating businesses and investment banks.

Among other engagements, Mr. Wolfson represented TDC A/S and its controlling shareholder on disposals of various businesses, including businesses in Switzerland, Hungary and Lithuania, and a Regulation S/Rule 144A public offering of TDC A/S shares.  He has also represented affiliates of The Blackstone Group on many of their international acquisitions and disposals, including their acquisitions of Mivisa group (Spain), Tragus group and United Biscuits group (U.K.), and Klöckner Pentaplast (Germany), and disposals of Kabel Baden-Württemberg (Germany), a stake in Merlin Entertainments (U.K.) and Intelenet (India).

Mr. Wolfson joined Simpson Thacher in New York in 1989.  He relocated to the Firm's London office in 1998.  He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Colgate University in 1986, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1989.  He is a member of the New York Bar.
