Patrick King is a Litigation Partner in the Firm's Palo Alto office. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, complex commercial litigation, and international arbitration.

Mr. King has represented companies such as Intel Corporation, Cisco Systems, Inc., NEC, Seagate Technology, Avistar Communications, and Drugstore.com in litigations and arbitrations across the country. Mr. King's patent litigation practice has covered a wide range of technologies, including microprocessor architecture, circuitry, and manufacturing processes, wireless routing, videoconferencing, data/video transfer protocols, and e-commerce. Mr. King has also litigated cases involving ERISA, RICO, and federal securities law claims on behalf of such clients as JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, MCI (formerly WorldCom), and Peak International. Mr. King assisted Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) in achieving its cost-free separation from the global Anderson organization in one of the largest-ever International Chamber of Commerce arbitrations.

Mr. King joined Simpson Thacher in 1994 and has practiced in the Firm's Palo Alto, Hong Kong, and New York offices.  He received his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1994, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar.
