Tyler Robinson is a Partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department, based in the London office. He represents clients in a wide variety of complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, focusing on international arbitration and litigation. Mr. Robinson’s recent experience includes: defending a leading global defense manufacturer in LCIA international arbitration against breach of contract claims in connection with a billion-dollar long-term government requirements contract; defending a leading European pharmaceutical and cosmetics company in AAA/ICDR international arbitration from fraud and misrepresentation claims under a long-term multi-jurisdictional distribution agreement; representing Moody’s Investors Service in several international arbitrations and litigations in Chile, Indonesia, Uruguay and Brazil; representing institutional investors in judgment enforcement proceedings in federal court in New York against the Republic of Argentina; representing General Electric and Bechtel in ICC, AAA and UNCITRAL bilateral investment treaty international arbitrations arising out of India’s alleged expropriation of the multi-billion dollar Dabhol Power Project in Maharashtra, India; representing a U.S. issuer in an overseas internal investigation under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act; representing Swiss Reinsurance Company in multi-billion dollar insurance coverage litigation arising out of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center; and representing Royal Indemnity Company in billion-dollar asbestos-related insurance coverage litigation against General Motors Corporation.
Mr. Robinson received his B.A., magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from the University of Michigan Law School where he was an Article Editor for the Michigan Law Review and recipient of the Helen DeRoy Memorial Award, Saul Nadler Memorial Award, and Raymond Dykema Award for academic achievements. Prior to joining the Firm in 2000, Mr. Robinson served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Ferdinand Fernandez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Hon. Thomas Griesa of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
