The Los Angeles office reflects the strength and diversity of Simpson Thacher's practice. Recent corporate engagements include: the pending sale of MGM Studios; the $1.3 billion acquisition of Birds Eye Foods by Pinnacle Foods Group; the $530 million acquisition of Airvana, Inc. by an investor group led by affiliates of S.A.C. Private Capital Group; the acquisition of controlling interests in CBaySystems Holdings and MedQuist, Inc.; the $1.3 billion acquisition of Performance Food Group by VISTAR Corporation; the $2.2 billion acquisition of Pinnacle Foods Group Inc. by affiliates of Blackstone Capital Partners; an equity offering by Oaktree Capital Management and its affiliates; representation of Oaktree Capital Management, Hellman & Friedman, KSL Capital and Platinum Equity, among others, in the formation and operation of private investment funds; and initial public offerings and other securities offerings, including the IPO's of DreamWorks Animation and Google, Inc.
