M&A Experience

Simpson Thacher has both the ability to handle the sophisticated challenge of complex M&A work and the experience of obtaining approvals from the regulators who oversee exempt organizations. Four projects illustrate this ability and experience.

  • The Firm represented The Presbyterian Hospital in the City of New York and The Society of the New York Hospital in the largest hospital merger in New York, creating New York Presbyterian Hospital.

  • The Ethical Culture Fieldston Schools were spun off from and reaffiliated with the Ethical Culture Society in the City of New York.

  • The Firm advised the not-for-profit television station WNET/Channel 13 in its acquisition of the operations of Channel 21.

  • The Firm represented Dance Theatre Workshop and Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Dance Company in their merger and assisted with the merger of two not-for-profit corporations within the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn.
